Priorities.

My priorities have somewhat changed lately. And that is directly linked to the deepening of my spiritual practice. To me, the most important thing in my world right now is my spiritual practice, because the effectiveness of this practice in some ways almost dictates what my experiences will be like, within other parts of my world.

Through deepening my spiritual practice, I have come to realize that the most important thing for me to do, on a daily basis, is have fun, experience joy, and shine a light wherever I go. You could call this kind of prioritization a little bit ‘selfish’, but not in the regular sense of the word. Taking this ‘selfish’ stance, is actually the best thing I could do for not only myself, but for everyone around me.

Having fun and experiencing joy that is not tethered to any particular outcome, is a very powerful way of empowering others to do the same. And this is what the world needs more of. So, my ‘selfish’ stance, is not actually selfish at all. Every single day I prioritize my happiness, and my experiences of joy and gratitude… and this puts me in a powerful position to serve others.

Aside from prioritizing joy in my life, I also feel that my own sense of growth is equally important. Therefore, personal and spiritual growth, comes in second place on my list of priorities. If I am spreading joy, having fun, and pushing myself towards learning and growing… then I sleep very soundly at night.

My third biggest priority is how I am being of service to others, which as I said before, ties in with my first priority. Like I said, the more light I can bring to this world, the better and more equipped I am to help others and lift them higher, too. This service is not just in relation to when I work with clients as part of my day job, but even more importantly, it is in relation to my friends and family, and really anyone who crosses my path.

You may think that my list of priorities is a bit muddled, or topsy-turvy, as I’m sure I can safely assume that most other people highly prioritize their careers, their financial situations, the relationships they have with others, and their health.

I think about it in this way though. When I prioritize joy, happiness and growth, the flow on effect is that it actually creates the best possible conditions for all those other parts of my life. Of course I think that my work, finances, relationships and health are all extremely important… but the way to manifest my most desired outcomes in this areas, all comes down to how I carry myself within my life, every day, moment to moment. So, I make my feelings, and the manner in which I experience life, my absolute number one priority. Because from this, everything else falls into place.

You heard it here first… you do not need to constantly strive, stress and struggle to get what you desire in those priority areas of your life. Having fun along the way and enjoying the process actually ensures you get what you desire, with far more certainty, ease and grace.

I will continue to live my life in this way, and I have absolute trust and faith that it will lead me in the right direction in all the different areas of my life. The fortunate side-effect from living in this way is that I have never been happier or more fulfilled! And I am bursting with anticipation for all that is soon to be arriving (in divine timing, of course).

Tapping into joy on a daily basis is so much fun… you should try it some-time 😊
