Gratitude

Gratitude can change everything. It can create miracles in your life because gratitude has a very high vibration. If we put that vibration out into the world, you will see blessings come back to you in the most amazing ways.

Its very easy to forget to be grateful. We are always focusing on what we don’t have, what we need to make our lives better. It is absolutely ok to want to make your life better… but focusing on what we don’t have isn’t going to make things any better. Sure, take whatever steps you can to better yourself and your situation… focus on this one day at a time. But don’t forget to thank the universe for all the blessings you currently have. This can be a hard one for some people who think they don’t have much to be grateful for…

But I have been at a point in my life where I only had a roof over my head, my immediate family, and not much more than that. I could have become desperate and helpless… but instead I focused on what I did have. And at that time, I was very grateful that I had my mental health intact. That was what kept me going. It wasn’t easy at times… I did feel despair and a longing for more. But I took the opportunity every day, to feel grateful, and I turned my life around.

I know it sounds simplistic, but if you have a roof over your head, a bed to sleep in, food to eat and water to drink, you are doing a lot better than some people in this world. Let gratitude be your anchor, to stop you from floating away in a sea of negativity and despair. What you are grateful for doesn’t really matter… it just matters that you practice gratitude.

I have recently forgotten this. But today I woke up with an amazing sense of gratitude for all the good things in my life. I know I am lucky, and a long way from where I started 10 years ago.

I would highly recommend getting yourself a journal and writing down three things every day that make you happy, or make you feel blessed. It can be a very powerful practice. I would also recommend, if you do a daily meditation, to tap into that feeling while you meditate. It can change the way your day unfolds.

Remember like attracts like, so if you vibrate at the frequency of gratitude, you will soon have more in your life to be grateful for.

Today I am grateful for meaningful work, friendships and a lovely home. What are you grateful for today? I promise you will find many blessings if you look closely.
